Food Valley Expo 2015 open!
Food Valley Expo 2015 is open. Today developments in the field of health and nutrition are covered by scientists and businesses. The challenges and opportunities in bridging science to business were illustrated by Rob Hamer, Unilever, during his opening lecture this morning. The Dutch Agri Food Week was launched by Bert Roetert, Food Valley NL, and Aalt Dijkhuizen, Dutch Topsector Agri & Food. Cooperation is a key factor in turning science into business, said Rob Hamer. He gave some recommendations to successfully travel the road from science to business:
- Start thinking ‘consumer’ or ‘customer’
- Identify every possible hurdle and requirement
- Secure expert support at every step
- Assure yourself of consumer relevance regularly
- Think ahead
And last but not least:
- Be prepared to fail early……
Tomorrow will be dedicated to interacting and meeting in agro-food business. There will be plenty of chance for innovative companies to present themselves on the Expo floor and in various workshops.
